Caracal Models has just released three new decal sheets. We will start shipping these decals on January 5, and all are available for pre-ordering now. CD48068 - 1/48 OV-10A Bronco: First new decal sheet for the Bronco in years, CD48068 provides markings for 11 different OV-10A Bronco COIN (counter insurgency) aircraft from USAF, US Navy, US Marine Corps and Venezuelan Air Force. This is a limited edition decal sheet; with only 300 printed.

CD48074 - 1/48 "FIghters of Austin": This sheet provides markings for F-4D/E Phantoms and F-16s operated by the 704th TFS at the Bergstrom Air Force Base, right here at Caracal Models' hometown of Austin, Texas. Three F-4D, three F-4E and two F-16A options to choose from.

CD72031 - 1/72 F-16 CAS Vipers: A scaled-down version of the best-selling 1/48 scale sheet we released last month, this new sheet provides markings for "Charcoal Vipers" - the F-16s that wore a dark green/gray camouflage scheme for CAS (Close Air Support) evaluations. Markings for all known CAS Vipers (10 in all) are featured.

All of these decal sheets can be pre-ordered now. We will start shipping them on January 5, 2015.

Liebe Mitglieder und Freunde der I.P.M.S. Deutschlannd e.V.,

ein ereignisreiches Jahr geht zu Ende und damit meine ich nicht nur den Modellbau. Dort gibt es immer wieder innovative Unternehmen, die etwas Neues probieren. Dafür gibt es seit Jahren unseren Innovationspreis. Dieses Jahr war Airfix unser Preisträger für die Quick Build-Bausätze.
Wir haben unser I.P.M.S. Journal im neuen Format etabliert und das kommt auch an. Ein Danke geht hier an unseren Chefredakteur.
Wie ein jeder gemerkt hat, ist die Folge der Updates in den letzten Tagen deutlich gestiegen. Das liegt an der Unterstützung die Steffen vom 2. Vorsitzenden Dr. Jürgen Willisch erhält. Das tut unserer Aktualität sehr gut und Steffen kann auch mal Luft holen.
2014 haben wir mit unseren Mitgliedern in ganz Deutschland eine Menge Veranstaltungen organisiert und durchgeführt. Das waren nicht nur die Ausstellungen im AiB in Berlin-Tegel oder MHM Berlin-Gatow sondern insbesondere die hohe Zahl von Nachwuchsaktionen.

Dafür möchte ich mich bei allen Beteiligten ganz herzlich bedanken. Ich wünsche ein besinnliches ruhiges Weihnachtsfest im Kreise der Familie sowie ein frohes gesundes Neues Jahr 2015!

Viel Andrang beim bundesweiten Aktionstag

Die Nachfrage nach Bastelplätzen war riesengroß. Mit bundesweit mehr als 150 Bastelaktionen im Spielwarenhandel und in den Räumlichkeiten zahlreicher Plastikmodellbauclubs hat der diesjährige Tag des Modellbaus erneut mehr als 4.000 Bastler angelockt. Modellbau erlebbar machen, insbesondere für Bastelanfänger â€\93 das ist das Ziel der Initiatoren des Modellbauaktionstages, der in diesem Jahr bereits zum neunten Mal durchgeführt wurde. Gerade für Neueinsteiger in den Plastikmodellbau bieten die Bastelaktionen eine gute Möglichkeit einen Einblick in das vielfältige Hobby zu bekommen. Die zumeist jungen Teilnehmer, wie Moritz aus Bonn, reagierten begeistert auf das Angebot: â€\9EIch habe das erste Mal selber ein Modell gebastelt. Ich war echt stolz, als ich das fertige Modell in den Händen gehalten habeâ€\9C.

Der Tag des Modellbaus ist ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt der Firmen Faller, Glow2B und Revell in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Deutschen Plastik-Modellbau-Verband (DPMV e.V.). Gemeinsam mit den anderen beteiligten Herstellerfirmen hat Revell mehr als 12.000 Bausätze und rund 1.000 Bastelartikel inklusive Werkzeug kostenlos zur Verfügung gestellt.

Heute möchten wir auf die Ausstellungseröffnung "Falkenstein zieht in den Krieg" hinweisen.

2014 jährt sich der Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkrieges zum einhundertsten Mal. Die Schau, in deren Mittelpunkt die Person des Reservisten Peter Falkenstein steht, wird bis 2018 jedes Jahr um einen zusätzlichen Ausstellungsabschnitt erweitert. Auf diese Weise werden der militärische Werdegang und das persönliche Schicksal des Soldaten, der im Sommer 1914 als Infanterist in den Krieg zog, bis zum Ende der Kampfhandlungen im November 1918 nachvollzogen.

Hello, I am glad to share with you my brand-new article in full scale, built as a model kit. It is the Barr & Stroud RAF Mk II and MK II* fitted to almost all British fighters of WWII. As usual, this kit is a resin copy of an original one, casted in absolutely non toxic resin.

In particular the modeller can choose between two kits:

• MK II: is the one used during the Battle of Britain on Spit, Hurri, Defiant etc... It has a curved glass onto a curved head. Part number is 7a/1124. Seen on Spitfire Mk I, Mk II, V, especially on Malta based a/c. The kit is composed of 28 parts.
• MK II*: the asterisk indicates the new, upgraded version, with a new head with brackets, and new, squared glass. Part number is 6b/2361. Seen on late Mk V and all british fighters and fighter-bomber until 1944-45. The kit is composed of 31 parts.

Parts are casted from original, so they can be assembled as the originals. Wheels rotates and lower wheel can be screwed on the main body. The two lens retainer rings can be screwed as the real so that the use of glue is reduced at its minimum. The kits are available and shipped worldwide.

CD48056 - 1/48 F-16 CAS Vipers: This new sheet provides markings for "Charcoal Vipers" - the F-16s that wore a dark green/gray camouflage scheme for CAS (Close Air Support) evaluations. Markings for all known CAS Vipers (10 in all) are featured.

CD48061 - 1/48 Air National Guard F-106A/B - Part 2: The second part of our popular Guard F-106 series provides markings for Delta Darts from California, Michigan and New Jersey Air National Guard units. Markings for both single and twin-seaters are included,

CD72027 - 1/72 C-123B Provider: This limited-edition decal sheet has six interesting options for the Roden C-123B Provider kit. The stencilling includes the intricate walkways over the wings and fuselage, which are not provided on the kit decal sheet.

A2Zee Models announcement as of the 31st October 2014

Well the waiting is over, it has been a crazy 20 days since the last announcement that I made on the 11th, so much has happened and changed in a very short space of time, mostly for the good, so as one chapter closes a few new ones open.

Firstly I would like to thank everybody for their support not only over the last few seeks but for many years, direct customers, trade customers and to my suppliers, all of whom have helped in many ways.

Closing of A2Zee Models was not an easy decision for me to make but it was one that had to be made for a few reasons, so once the decision was made the chapter started unrolling at a very fast rate, so with all that is happened I can now say where things are at and what will be happening in the future. I will be breaking this down into three areas so please take note of each.

Alley Cat

I am pleased to announce that most of the Alley Cat patterns have been purchased by Alec Smith and he will be continuing the Alley Cat brand in the future. Alec has decided to now call his company Alley Cat Models, so in time the name A2Zee Models will be no more. I wish him all the best and I will be doing my best to transfer all products and information to him to enable a smooth start. There is still some final arrangements to be made between Alec and I so the Alley Cat range will not be available immediately, so please be patient, I am sure Alec will keep you all informed as his new venture progresses. I do hope that all of you will support Alec in his new venture and he already has some of his own ideas for future releases. In the meantime Alec can be contacted at the following email address AlleyCatModels@outlook.com

Rotor Craft

I am pleased to announce that a deal was secured through Colin Burgess (Rotor Craft) and Colin Strachan of Freightdog Models, so the Rotor Craft patterns and name will now be in the hands of Colin. Lastly a quick note about my future. Well a few weeks ago it was very uncertain, and as of now it looks like I will still be around in the model making world, so you have not got rid of me as yet. I hope to continue to do some casting work, mainly clear casting but some general casting as well. However quite a few opportunities have opened up for me to do pattern making for other companies and this includes possibly developing new products for Alec and Colin. There are other prospects as well for other companies so it looks as if I could be extremely busy, and I am looking forward to using more of my creative ability and hopefully I will start building models again for my own enjoyment. Well that is the end of the story and this will be my last announcement from A2Zee Models and Alley Cat. I will be visiting SMW at Telford next weekend and I am really looking forward to meeting with many of you and this time I think I will really enjoy the show.

Schon vor über 18 Jahren erschien der Band 2 von Nuts & Bolts über die „Wespe“. Er bestand im wesentlichem nur aus einer kurzen Beschreibung des Fahrzeugs und Detailfotos der erhalten gebliebenen Fahrzeuge in Museen und Sammlungen. Seit dieser Zeit hat sich unsere Reihe Nuts & Bolts ständig weiterentwickelt: Zeitgenössische Fotos, Kriegsstärkenachweisungen, Informationen über Fahrzeugzuweisungen und Einsatzverwendung sind hinzugekommen. Wir haben daher den seinerzeit erschienenen Band vollständig überarbeitet. Neben einer großen Zahl an historischen Fotos wurden die 2D-Zeichnungen erneuert und mit 3D-Zeichnungen ergänzt. Farbzeichnungen von Tarnschemen, sowie Farbfotos der Museumsfahrzeuge und Modelle von Tony Greenland mit einer Modellbaubeschreibung wurden hinzugefügt. Außerdem wurde noch die Entwicklung der leichten Feldhaubitze 18 und der „Hummel-Wespe“ ergänzt.

In dem Film, der u. a. mit Ken Duken (Inglorious Bastards) und Anatole Taubmann (James Bond 007: Ein Quantum Trost) hochkarätig besetzt ist, strandet eine Gruppe Wikinger an der schottischen Küste - weit weg vom nächsten Wikingerdorf - und wird auf dem Weg zurück von einem mysteriösen Feind gejagt. Dabei entbrennt ein gnadenloser Wettlauf gegen die Zeit und ein Kampf um Leben und Tod.

Passend zum Film bringt Revell den seit Jahren erfolgreichen Bausatz Viking Ship in einer Northmen Sonderedition in den Handel. Das Wikingerschiff besteht aus 131 Teilen und wirkt mit seinen knapp 40 Zentimetern auch 50-fach verkleinert sehr imposant. Viele filigran herausgearbeitete Details wie der typische Drachenkopf sorgen für viel Authentizität. Damit der Bastelspaß sofort beginnen kann, wird das notwendige Basiszubehör in der attraktiven Sonderverpackung gleich mitgeliefert.

Revell-Team auf dem Hafenschlepper Fairplay X

Modellübergabe mit Arbeitseinsatz

Modellübergaben sind für die Mitarbeiter der Revell Produktentwicklung und der Marketingabteilung immer ein schöner Abschluss Bausatzentwicklung. Dabei ergibt es sich immer wieder einmal, dass sich das jeweilige Revell-Team auf oder im Original-Vorbild eines Modells wieder finden.

Bei der Übergabe des Hafenschleppers Fairplay X an die Fairplay Schleppdampfschiffs-Reederei, wurden alle bisher schon sehr spannenden Erfahrungen noch übertroffen. Bevor der Entwickler des Modells, Daniel Pasternok, die kleine Fairplay X an Christian Hunzinger, Technical Superintendent der Reederei, am Hamburger Schlepperkai übergeben konnte, musste die Fairplay X noch etwas arbeiten: Sozusagen hautnah erlebten die Revell-Mitarbeiter, wie der Schlepper gemeinsam mit einem zweiten "Tugboat" das 360 m lange Containerschiff "CMS CGM Pegasus" vom Kai weg zog, damit der "große Pott" danach aus eigener Kraft die Elbe hoch fahren konnte. Besonders für Daniel Pasternok war dies ein unvergessliches Erlebnis: "Wirklich beeindruckend, wie kraftvoll und manövrierfähig die Fairplay X, dank ihrer zwei Schottelantriebe, die zusammen über 5000 PS Leistung produzieren, ist".

Das 2009 von der spanischen Werft Astilleros Armon fertig gestellte Schiff macht damit knapp über 12 Knoten. Die 144-mal verkleinerte Version des Kraftpakets besteht aus 103 Einzelteilen und misst zusammengebaut knapp 18 Zentimeter. Viele Details, wie der Radarmast, der Schottelantrieb und die Deckaufbauten sind sehr filigran auf das Modell übertragen worden. Sehr gelungen ist auch die authentische Darstellung des Kommandostandes.

CD48064 - 1/48 F-100 "Hun" in Vietnam - Part 1: The first installment of a two-sheet series chronicling the service of F-100 in Vietnam; this sheet features nine camouflaged "Huns" from different units. Many of these interesting options have not been done in decal form before. The sheet includes enough stencilling and national insignia to build any two of the aircraft featured on the sheet.

CD72015 - 1/72 PBM-5 / PBM-5A Mariner Part 1: Finally some new markings for the recent Minicraft kit of the PBM! Five options for both PBM-5 and PBM-5As from WWII and immediate postwar era.

Am Himmel Frankreichs - Die Geschichte des JG 2 "Richthofen"
(Band 3: 1941)

Der dritte Band dieser Chronik umfasst den Zeitraum von April bis Ende Dezember 1941, in dem sich das selbstbewusst-draufgängerische "Richthofen" von 1940 durch die immer heftigeren und schmerzhafteren Einflüge der RAF in einen auf Verteidigungaufgaben zurückgedrängten Verband umwandelt.

Als neben dem JG 26 "Schlageter" allein noch in Frankreich verbliebenes Jagdgeschwader - alle anderen waren in die UdSSR verlegt worden - muss das JG 2 menschlich und materiell all seine Kräfte mobilisieren, um an einer in stetigem Umbau befindlichen und immer gefährlicher werdenden Luftfront zu bestehen.

Die Übersetzung aus dem Französischen und die deutsche Bearbeitung lagen auch diesmal wieder in den Händen von Hans G. Berger, einem ehemaligen Staffelkapitän im JG 1 und freiberuflichen Übersetzer für Technik und Recht.

Ich bin sicher, dass auch das neue Werk wieder reges Interesse finden wird.

We would like to inform you about our new kits of September 2014:

1) 35161 "Hitching a ride, US Paratroopers and Civilians" - The kit includes the model of German Army’s 170 VK car (this model is released by us as a separate kit – catalogue number is 3530) and 5 figures, three of which represent elderly couple with grandson, and two figures – US military men. The action of the story takes place in the south of Europe in 1944-1945, countrymen stopped at the US patrol and help them to find their position. By the way, the use of German trophy cars by the civil people in areas liberated from German forces is confirmed by documentary photographs. The figures are animated very well and they interact with each other very well. The centre of the story is a boy that is reaching out with childish ingenuousness for that is most important for him now – for soldier’s accoutrements.

2) 35175 "Zombie Hunter - Road to Freedom", Zombieland series" - This is a peculiar kit by that our company starts to develop a new subject for us, a subject of fantasy world. The action of the kit takes place in an invented post-apocalyptic world. The kit consists of 5 figures, one of which is a girl that is trying to escape from a place infected by Zombies by using the motorcycle and weapons, 4 rest figures are Zombies. Zombies are represented by the most different types of people and they include woman-policeman, nurse, repairman and simple passerby. The kit will not be completed by the motorcycle and the modeller will be able to choose himself the motorcycle of what manufacturer to use, all the more, the list of the models of motorcycles in 1 / 35 scale of various manufacturers will be placed on the box of the kit.

3) 72005 "MK II "Male" British Tank, Arras Battle period, 1917" - The kit represents a set of parts placed on 5 sprues intended for making the model of MK II British Tank, Artillery Version, in Arras Battle period, 1917 in 1/72 scale. The kit is noted for high degree of detail (taking into account 1/72 scale), thorough work on the small parts and high degree of the correspondence to the original. Photo-etched parts are not included in the kit, the kit is not completed by decals, as exactly this kind of the tank did not bear any inscriptions almost.

am besten schauen Sie selbst, mit welchen neuen Artikeln Sie Ihre aktuellen oder geplanten Projekte vervollständigen können!

Zum Beispiel mit Abziehbildern in 1:32 von Eagle Cals für die Bf 109 G-10 (Erla) auf gleich zwei Bögen (ECD32155 und ECD32156). We are happy to announce the establishment of a new IPMS branch called "Odessos", which is local branch for IPMS Bulgaria. The official start date was 1st of July, 2014 in the City of Varna, Bulgaria.

Although Bulgarian in origin, our branch is currently having and will continue to accept people from all around the World. With pleasure we can say that currently we have members from UK, USA and Germany. Sehr geehrte Mitglieder und Kooperationspartner,

wie in den Jahren zuvor findet auch in diesem Jahr wieder das große "Flugplatzfest" statt. Zu den historischen Flugzeugen die dem Luftwaffenmuseum wieder einen "fliegerischen" Besuch abstatten werden, fügen sich zwei weitere Highlights hinzu. Zum einen wird die "Berlin-Patrol" ihr historisches Militärcamp mit vielen historischen Fahrzeugen aus der Zeit der "Alliierten Streitkräfte" in Gatow darbieten und des weiteren wird am Sonntag, d. 07.09.14 dem 20. Jahrestag des Abzuges der Alliierten Schutzmächte und der Übergabe des Flugplatzes Gatow gedacht.

Abschließend möchten wir Ihnen noch ein weiteren Neuzugang ankündigen. Das Museum erwartet für seine Ausstellung das Luftverteidigungsradar MPR (Medium Power Radar). Über Jahrzehnte war das MPR - Luftverteidigungsradar das Rückgrat der Westeuropäischen u. Deutschen Luftverteidigung. Es nimmt somit auch einen unverzichtbaren Sammlungsplatz in der Ausstellung ein. Wir möchten unseren beteiligten Mitglieder dafür hier für ihre Unterstützungsleistung danken.

Am 11. Oktober ist es wieder so weit. Verteilt über ganz Deutschland beteiligen sich weit über 130 Spielwarenhändler und zahlreiche Plastikmodellbauclubs mit kleinen und großen Bastelaktionen am diesjährigen Tag des Modellbaus. Hendrik Dresrüsse, Projektmanager in unserem Haus und seit fünf Jahren einer der Koordinatoren des Aktionstages, weiß warum vor allem Kinder und Jugendliche so begeistert auf den Modellbautag reagieren: "Beim Basteln können sich die Kinder ruhig und entspannt auf ihr Tun konzentrieren. Das erleben sie als angenehmen Kontrast zum stressigen und oft genug hektischen Schulalltag. Es ist immer wieder erstaunlich wie motiviert und hingebungsvoll die Kinder an ihren Modellen basteln. Und am Ende steht immer ein Ergebnis, dass man mit seinen eigenen Händen geschaffen hat und stolz mit nach Hause nimmt".

Aber nicht nur Einsteiger erhalten die notwendigen ersten Hilfestellungen, auch schon etwas geübtere Bastler können von dem Wissen der erfahrenen Modellbauer profitieren. Was wo passiert erfährt man in Kürze auf der Website des Aktionstages: www-tag-des-modellbaus.de.

Der Tag des Modellbaus ist ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt der Firmen Faller, Glow2B und Revell in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Deutschen Plastik-Modellbau-Verband (DPMV e.V.). Gemeinsam mit den anderen beteiligten Herstellerfirmen stellen wir Bausätze und Werkzeug kostenlos zur Verfügung. Im vergangenen Jahr waren das knapp 12.000 Bausätze und fast 1.000 Bastelartikel inklusive Werkzeug. Für den Marktführer ist der Aktionstag ein ganz wichtiger Bestandteil unseres Engagements im Bereich der Nachwuchsarbeit.

Der Siegerflieger für alle

Der Modellbauhersteller Revell feiert Deutschlands vierten Stern mit einer Sonderedition der Boeing 747-8 - dem Flugzeug, mit dem unsere Weltmeister von Rio de Janeiro in die Heimat geflogen sind. Und natürlich wird auch die Siegerflieger-Lackierung, die die Lufthansa direkt nach dem Finale extra angebracht hat, originalgetreu umgesetzt. Damit können Fußballfans sich ihren eigenen Siegerflieger als Erinnerung an den Riesenerfolg in Brasilien nach Hause holen.



Der Bausatz im Maßstab 1:144 besteht aus 165 Einzelteilen. In der attraktiven Sonderverpackung sind Basisfarben, Pinsel und Kleber enthalten, so dass der Zusammenbau sofort beginnen kann. Der Siegerflieger landet im Oktober zum Preis von 34,99 Euro im Fachhandel.

Das Modell der Boeing ist wie das Original von Revell bereits 2012 ausgeliefert worden. Die Neuauflage des legendären Jumbos 747 ist mit 76,4 Metern das längste Passagierflugzeug der Welt. Durch die Streckung des Rumpfes bietet der neue Superjumbo 362 komfortable Plätze.

This is a 1/72nd scale resin conversion set for use with the recently re-issued Heller Etendard IVM, to convert to a photo reconnaissance or air to air buddy tanker. Includes new clear cast camera nose with non-retracting inflight refuelling probe, nose strake, clear belly mounted camera pack and optional Douglas centreline refuelling pod. Pod is also applicable to the Super Etendard, so two models can be built using this set. No decals are included.

Freightdog 1/72 Spitfire Mk.18 conversion [FDC72001] - price £3.50

Resin cast conversion parts (larger rudder and retractable tail wheel for Fujimi kit) to produce one large rudder Spitfire Mk 18 in 1/72nd scale. Decals are not included, can be used with Spitfire Mk 18 decal options on Freightdog sheet FSD72004S (also sold with decals for £10 per set).

25 Jahre Mauerfall: Trabi-Versteigerung zugunsten der Kinderkrebshilfe

Mit zwei außergewöhnlichen Aktionen beteiligt sich der Modellbauhersteller Revell an den Feierlichkeiten zum 25-jährigen Jubiläum des Falls der Berliner Mauer. Vor dem Hintergrund des historisch bedeutsamen Datums dreht sich bei dem Modellbauhersteller alles um das Thema Trabi, dem Auto, das für die ostdeutsche Bevölkerung eine ähnliche Bedeutung hatte wie der Käfer im Westen. Schauplatz beider Aktionen ist die Aktionsfläche der modell-hobby-spiel, die vom 3.-5. Oktober in den Leipziger Messehallen stattfindet.

Höhepunkt ist die Versteigerung eines Original-Trabis. Die Besonderheit dieses Modells besteht darin, dass es sich bei dem Auto um ein vom Graffiti-Verein Leipzig zum Thema "25 Jahre Mauerfall" gestaltetes Unikat handelt. Die Versteigerung des Autos, dessen Erlös zu 100 Prozent der Deutschen Kinderkrebshilfe zu Gute kommt, werden Revell und die Hilfsorganisation gemeinsam durchführen. Am 5. Oktober wird die Ehrenpräsidentin der Deutschen Krebshilfe, Frau Professor Dr. Dagmar Schipanski, wie schon vor fünf Jahren vor Ort sein und den Startschuss für die Versteigerung geben. Über den Ablauf der Versteigerung wird rechtzeitig informiert. Bereits zum 20-jährigen Jubiläum des Mauerfalls hatte Revell einen entsprechend gestalteten Trabi während der Messeveranstaltung verlost.

Eine weitere Attraktion auf der Aktionsfläche ist der große Trabi-Modell-Wettbewerb. Weil Modelle erst in einem stimmigen Diorama so richtig zum Leben erweckt werden, sind die Teilnehmer aufgerufen ihre Modelle in eine kleine Welt einzubetten. Vom Trabi, der die Berliner Mauer durchbricht, bis hin zu dem bemitleidenswerten Exemplar, dessen Besitzer es gegen ein vermeintlich attraktiveres West-Auto eingetauscht und auf den Schrottplatz geworfen hat, ist alles möglich. Der Fantasie sind keine Grenzen gesetzt.

Ausgestellt werden die Modelle auf der Aktionsfläche, auf der neben dem Jubiläums-Auto auch weitere Original-Trabis, wie der aus dem Film "Go Trabi Go" bekannte "Schorsch", ausgestellt sein werden. Interessierte Teilnehmer werden gebeten sich vorab bei der Firma Revell anzumelden (award@revell.de oder per Post unter dem Stichwort "Trabi-Dioramenwettbewerb" an Revell GmbH, Henschelstr. 20-30, 32257 Bünde). Anmeldeschluss ist der 31. August 2014. Der Gewinner wird durch die Besucher der Messe bestimmt. Das Diorama, das die meisten Stimmen auf sich vereint, hat den Wettbewerb gewonnen.

Stimmig ist auch die Prämie für den Sieger des Wettbewerbs. Der Teilnehmer mit dem schönsten Trabi-Diorama wird mit einem zweitägigen Wochenende für zwei Personen in Zwickau, der Stadt, in der der Trabi einst vom Band lief, belohnt. Dort wird der Gewinner von dem Leiter der Revell-Produktentwicklung, Ulli Taubert, durch das Horch Museum, das Trabant Museum und die mobile Trabant Ausstellung geführt.

We now have the pattern for the 1/32nd Macchi M52 and we anticipate a release in September. There is something we need you help with. On some pictures, it appears that there is an 'M52' text just in front of the tailplane in a dark colour, maybe black?There should also be a serial number for each of the 3 versions and would be grateful if any of you have this information.



Work is progressing on the Napier Heston pattern and we are also currently doing the relevant changes on the DH88 Comet pattern to make the other versions.

Auch dieses Jahr finden in ganz Deutschland um den 11. Oktober herum inzwischen zum neunten Mal Veranstaltungen zum Tag des Modellbaus statt.

Um die 100 Händler werden neben den Klubs aktiv. Damit soll es erreicht werden, weitere Interessierte für unser schönes Hobby zu gewinnen. Wer keine eigene Veranstaltung durchführen kann, der sollte überlegen, wie man ggf. einen in der Nähe befindlichen Händler unterstützen kann. Gut für die eigene Nachwuchsgewinnung ist es allemal. Dazu bitte nach Freischaltung auf die Homepage zum Tag des Modellbaus schauen.

Von Faller kommen dieses Jahr wieder die üblichen Häuser zum Kleben und wenn es gut läuft, dann auch in einer weiteren Farbe. Gleichzeitig sollen einige neue Häuser in Mischbauweise(Papier/Kunststoff) dabei sein. Revell liefert einen EC-135-Easy-Kit in 1/72 und von Glow2b kommt ein herkömmlicher Klebebausatz. Für die Klubs wird es auch wieder ein wenig Werkzeug und Klebstoff geben.

CD48044 - 1/48 Alpha Jet: This very colorful and comprehensive decal sheet provides marking options for 15 Alpha Jets from 8 different countries (France, Belgium, Egypt, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Togo and Nigeria); allowing you to build something really different with your Kinetic Alpha Jet kit! The profiles below do not show all French (7 total) and Belgian (2 total) options on the sheet.

CD48047 - 1/48 USAF / US Coast Guard SA-16A Albatross: Our second sheet for the Trumpeter SA-16A kit features markings for early Albatrosses of USAF and US Coast Guard. Finally some accurate markings to replace the kit decals! Markings for five USAF SA-16A (including a sinister-looking all black ANG option) and one US Coast Guard UF-1G.

CD48065 - 1/48 Blue Angels C-130 "Fat Albert": Markings for "Fat Albert", the C-130T assigned to the US Navy's "Blue Angels" aerobatic demonstration team. CD72019 - 1/72 F-16 Vipers - The Next Generation: A scaled-down version of our very successful 1/48 international F-16 sheet, our new 1/72 sheet adds markings for the new dark gray Have Glass Gen. V scheme being introduced to the USAF fleet, as well as markings for the (yet to be delivered) Iraqi F-16s. Markings for USAF, Iraq, Poland, Morocco, Bahrain and Oman.

Some latest news from DACO Products.

With this newsletter I would like to announce proudly that the sea container containing the F-104 Improvement Sets and a new batch of Boeing 737 kits has been dropped off at my office earlier today.

While the first pre-orders have been send out already and if you already have it pre-ordered during the past week: thanks, your order is going to be mailed out during coming week, but maybe you haven't and you have anxious been waiting for the release of these kits too!

For the F-104 Improvement Set this means the end result of 7 years of measuring, designing, tooling and patiently waiting, but boy what is it nice! The investment was huge, I probably would never done it if I would have known the final pricetag at the start (for example the different helmets have cost me 5000 euro to design & tool). But your investment is not so high. The sprues with the Wings and with the Fueltanks are also available as separate item. Discounts are given when ordering higher quantities. Also other Starfighter related items, such as the books and decals, are having a reduced 'combo deal' price.

For the B737 kits this means the availability if a new batch of these highly praised kits. By request they come now with airliner markings and General Stencilling decals. The new price is 24.75 euro and I would say: get them before they are sold out again... Also here, all B737 related decals are with a combo deal!

And separately available now is the transparent cockpit sprue of the above kits, a very usable part to make the Minicraft B707 / B727 / B737 kits look more accurate. A set of two is yours for 6.00 euro.

And three new civil decals have been released too: the B787 Dreamliner for the TUI group (Thomson, Jetair Fly, Arke and NordicTUI), the B737 Classics for Garuda Indonesia (old and new scheme on one sheet) and the B737 fleet of TNT Express.

Interested in the Airbus A300? I've released now this older aircraft with decals of Garuda Indonesia and TNT Express, PLUS all wing Corogard and leading edges as bonus decal.

Situation in Ukraine and particularly in Crimea forced us to relocate business to the capital of our country - Kiev. All facilities was transported successfully and we were able to keep all our key personnel. Right now MiniArt is in reorganization period but it's planned to restart all activities in nearest future. We are already preparing new models for release and soon will announce what these models are. Caracal Models has just released three new decal sheets. We will start shipping these decals on May 24, and all are available for preordering now.

CD48051 - 1/48 International T-38A: Our third (and most likely final) sheet for the excellent Wolfpack 1/48 T-38A kit features markings for two NATO users of the Talon: Turkey and Portugal. Turkish markings on the sheet include all common tail art worn by the 121. Filo, the primary operator unit, including the latest, very colorful upgraded T-38M scheme. Portuguese markings feature both full-color and outline EICPAC unit badges. Options for four Turkish and three Portuguese T-38s.

CD72021 - 1/72 EC-121 Warning Star Part 1: The first new sheet for the venerable Heller kit of the EC-121 Warning Star in years, this sheet provides markings for two USAF and two US Navy AEW aircraft. We recommend the recent resin upgrade sets from Fisher Models and DMold to improve your Heller EC-121 kits.

Coming soon from HI-DECAL: "Camouflaged Desert Swords" F-86F-25/F-40 Sabre in service with the Iranian, Ethiopian and Tunisian Air Forces

Available in 1/72nd scale as HD 72064 / Available in 1/48th scale as HD 48034

The Imperial Iranian Air Force received the first of 52 F-86F-25/F-30 Sabres, upgraded with the F-40 slatted wings and 4 underwing hardpoints, in 1960. Normally based at 1 TFB Mehrabad, four IIAF Sabres operated out of Kamina AB, between January and May 1963, as part of the United Nations Fighter Wing during the Katanga secession. The IIAF F-86Fs were very active,flying more operational sorties than the co-based Swedish and Philippine contingents combined, one of the Sabres suffering damage due to ground fire. In late 1963, the Iranian Sabre fleet was equipped with the AIM-9B Sidewinder AAM. Around 1965, the Iranian F-86Fs were repainted in the Asia Minor camouflage scheme. The Sabres were used in the fighter-bomber and training roles until 1971, their favourite weapons being napalm containers, unguided rocket pods as well as M117 bombs. Several Iranian Sabres were delivered to the Imperial Ethiopian Air Force during November 1970. Based in Asmara,these aircraft were active in the COIN role against Eritrean rebel forces during the early 1970s. The Tunisian Air Force was the last export customer of the North American built Sabres. The FAERT received 12 former JASDF F-86F-40 Sabres, painted in a smart South East Asia camouflage,in 1969 and used them, mostly in the training role, until 1975.

Based on new, previously not available, informations and extensive research, our decal sheet will feature, for the very first time, an IIAF F-86F in UN service as well as an Iranian Sabre fighter-bomber, wearing the highly attractive Asia Minor desert camouflage. As this last aircraft was handed over to the IEAF in 1970, our sheet will also include the correct markings applied to this F-86F when in Imperial Ethiopian AF service. Last but not least, one of the Tunisian Sabres, wearing the S.E.A. scheme, will also be covered on this sheet:

• F-86F-25 "3-133" - 103rd TFS, Imperial Iranian Air Force, in Natural Metal Finish, deployed to Kamina AB,Congo, in 1963 as part of the UN Fighter Wing during the Katanga crisis.
• F-86F-25 "3-141" - 41st TFS, Imperial Iranian Air Force, 4 TFB Vahdati, 1969, with Asia Minor camouflage scheme.
• F-86F-25 "275" (ex "3-141") - 5th Fighter Bomber Sqn, Imperial Ethiopian Air Force, Asmara AB, 1972,in Asia Minor camouflage.
• F-86F-40 "AC" - 11th FS, Tunisian Air Force, Bizerte Sidi Ahmed AB,1970, in South East Asia camouflage scheme.

We recommend to use
in 1/72nd scale the F-86F-40 Sabre kits from Fujimi, Hobbyboss or Hasegawa
in 1/48th scale, the Hasegawa F-86F-40 kits, also available from Revell as Sabre Mk.6(F-86F-40)

As all featured aircraft used the bigger 200 Gal. underwing tanks, typical for Japanese Sabres, any JASDF boxings will include these stores.

We hope to have these decals ready in early July to coincide with the re-edition of the Hasegawa F-86F-40 kit in 1/48 scale

Sehr geehrte Mitglieder und Kooperationspartner,

hiermit möchten wir Sie auf eine neue Sonderausstellung vom 25.04. bis 14.09.2014 im Luftwaffenmuseum hinweisen. Die Ausstellungen mit dem Titel "Nur Fliegen ist schöner" ist in Kooperation mit dem Deutschen Marinemuseum Wilhelmshaven gestaltet worden.

Der Traum vom Fliegen ist so alt wie die Menschheit. Namen wie Wright, Lilienthal aber auch Zeppelin und Schütte-Lanz stehen für den Durchbruch an der Wende vom 19. zum 20. Jahrhundert. Nachdem sich die Kaiserliche Marine zunächst nur zögerlich mit der neuen Technik auseinander gesetzt hatte, begann sie ab 1909 die Verwendung von Luftschiffen und später auch Flugzeugen für ihre Zwecke in Erwägung zu ziehen. Mancher Offizier betrieb die Fliegerei bereits als Hobby: 1912 existierte in Wilhelmshaven bereits ein Seeoffizier-Luft-Club. Am 3. Mai 1913 verfügte Kaiser Wilhelm II. schließlich mit einer Allerhöchsten Kabinetts-Ordre die Aufstellung von Marinefliegerkräften in Berlin-Johannisthal und Putzig bei Danzig. Dieses Datum gilt seither als Geburtsstunde der Marinefliegerei in Deutschland.

Im Mittelpunkt der Ausstellung stehen zwei großformatige Fotoalben aus dem Nachlass des auf der Flugwerft Wilhelmshaven bis 1920 beschäftigten Werkmeisters Tonius Pollmann. Als Großfotos in der Ausstellung geben sie dem Besucher einen plastischen Eindruck von der Lebenswelt der Flieger und Konstrukteure.

Neben dem Werkmeister Pollmann wird auch das Schicksal von gefallenen Piloten thematisiert.

Luftaufnahmen vom Jadebusen runden die Ausstellung ab und ermöglichen dem Besucher, einmal selbst Beobachter zu werden.

das Museumsleben im Luftwaffenmuseum hat mittlerweile seine volle Fahrt aufgenommen. Mit den letzten Planungen für die Sonderausstellungseröffnung über die Marineflieger mit dem Titel "Nur Fliegen ist schöner.." ist eine von vielen Vorbereitungen abgeschlossen.

Als kleines Highlight zu den bevorstehenden Osterfeiertagen ist ein weiteres Themenfeld eingerichtet worden, hier mit der Überschrift: "Drohnen" / Unbemannte Flugkörper.

Das Luftwaffenmuseum und Museumsshop ist an allen Feiertagen geöffnet !!

Nach den Mai-Feiertagen erwartet das Luftwaffenmuseum einen regen Zulauf durch die Feierlichkeiten zu "65. Jahre Berliner Luftbrücke", sowie der im Anschluss stattfindenden großen "Internationalen Luft- und Raumfahrtausstellung" (ILA`2014). Auf der ILA wird der FV LwM Bw in Kooperation mit der GBSL u. MHM auf mehreren Ständen im Innen- u. Außenbereich vertreten sein.

Nachdem von Nuts & Bolts bislang nur Kettenfahrzeuge, Halbkettenfahrzeuge und Waffensysteme behandelt wurden, liegt mit diesem Band nun die erste Ausgabe der Reihe vor, die sich ausschließlich mit einer Serie von Lastkraftwagen auseinandersetzt - den mittleren geländegängigen Lastkraftwagen (o) der Reichswehr und Wehrmacht.

Die Entwicklung dieser Fahrzeuge begann in der zweiten Hälfte der 1920er Jahre. Sie prägten das Bild der Reichswehr und Wehrmacht in den 1930er Jahren. Der Krieg mit seinen teils sehr unterschiedlichen Schauplätzen nötigte diesen Fahrzeugen Beanspruchungen ab, für die sie nicht konstruiert waren. Trotzdem leisteten viele dieser Lastwagen ihren Dienst bis zum Ende des Krieges. Heute sind nur noch wenige Fahrzeuge dieser Gattung erhalten, was an dem Umstand liegt, dass in der Nachkriegszeit in ganz Europa ein akuter Mangel an Transportfahrzeugen herrschte und daher alle Fahrzeuge, die fahrbar zu machen waren, aufgebraucht wurden:

We would like to inform you about our new kits of March:

1) MB3209 "Napoleon's Red Lancer, Napoleonic Wars Series" - The scale of the kit is 1/32. This kit opens a new line in the production of MB figures and it is our first kit in 1/32 scale referring to so-called "military-historical miniature" and it refers to Napoleonic Wars era.
The kit consists of 2 figures. One figure is a horseman, it is a Holland Lancer from Napoleonâ€\99s Guard, and the other figure is a young woman - cantiniere. Both figures are combined by a story: a Horse Lancer stopped for a few minutes at the routier to water a horse and to refresh himself by a glass of wine, and a young cantiniere who gave him a glass is looking and waiting till a man quenches his thirst.
We would like to emphasize especially that this kit is the first kit of the series of the figures devoted to Napoleonâ€\99s era and there are 2 more kits of the same series planned to be released in 2014.

2) MB3590 "Accident. Soviet & German military men, summer 1941" - The scale of the kit is 1/35. The kit consists of 3 figures of Soviet soldiers and 2 figures of German soldiers. The action of the story takes place in summer 1941, 2 military men of the Wehrmacht encountered the group of Soviet soldiers. The vehicle of German military men was damaged. Seeing Soviet soldiers who drew closer, a driver hands-upped, but an officer intends to fight, so the end of the story is not clear.
The peculiarity of the kit is that Soviet soldiers are equipped into the pre-war accoutrements that disappeared very quickly in the first months of the war and then they were almost not used already. The other special appeal of the kit is that the kit is not tied to a concrete vehicle and the modeller could choose the model of the vehicle at his choice. The third peculiarity of the kit is that the figure of the German officer is completed with the additional parts that allow doing the multipose assembly.
The figures of the kit are animated well and they interact with each other well.

3) MB72003 "MK I "Male" British Tank, Special Modification for the Gaza Strip" - The scale of the kit is 1/72. The kit continues the series of the kits of military techniques of the WW I era and it represents a special modification of "MK I "Male" British Tank that is adopted for the action in Northern Africa against the Turkish forces. Despite the model repeats the construction of 72001 model of our production, the model differs in construction outwardly very much and both models put side by side look not as the modes of the same vehicle, but as 2 absolutely different models. The kit includes decals. The photo-etched part is not included in this kit.
We would like to emphasize especially that machinegun turrets of the model rotate and barrels of the machineguns move up and down.

4) MB72004 "MK I "Female" British Tank, Special Modification for the Gaza Strip" - The scale of the kit is 1/72. This is a limited re-print (by Fantasy Printshop) of the third decal sheet we produced, fully updated with new content added. This sheet covers RAuxAF options between 1948 and 1953, all operated from South of England airfields. Covering four options, allowing enough decals to complete all four. Aircraft covered are Mosquito T3 RAO-L VT588 of 608 Sqn at Manston, Spitfire XVIe SL727 of 601 Sqn 1949 at North Weald, Harvard T2B FX432 of 500 Sqn 1952 at West Malling and Spitfire Mk.22 RAV-M PK550 of 615 Sqn, at Biggin Hill 1949.
As a bonus the first fifty sheets sold will include a pair of resin Spitfire Mk.22 main wheels, to improve on those supplied in the Airfix kit.

Last week Model Mushroom Publications and myself agreed to expand the "Finnish Fighter Colours" book to two volumes, each 192 pages. The books will then contain about 500 photos and 200 colour profiles, all other specs remaining the same.

Volume 1 deals with all pre 1940 acquired types (BU, FR, GL, FA, MS and BW) and Volume 2 thereafter acquired types (CA, HC, CU, MT, MY, IR, IT, LG and KH).

Needless to say, all previous orders for the single volume book will be cancelled.

The first volume will go to the printer during the spring and the second volume after the summer.

This is a replacement pair of resin wheels correcting hub detail on the new Airfix fabric wing Hurricane kit. These wheels accurately depict the early dished five spoke design.

Freightdog 1/72 Harrier GR.3 Blue Eric ECM pod (new Airfix kit) [FDR72065] - Price £3.00
This item replaces the port Aden gun pod with the Falklands fit 'Blue Eric' ECM pod. Carried on GR.3 airframes XZ133, XV778, XZ992 and XW919. Suitable decals can be found on Combat Decals sheet CD72002 (available seperately). See also our replacement GR.3 fin for the Airfix kit.

We would like to inform you about our two new kits of January 2014:

1) MB3583 "German Elite Infantry, Eastern Front, WW II era" – The group of the German military men from the Elite Infantry is shown in the kit.

The special appeal of the kit is that the soldiers are shown at the moment when they took on the way during the march that thing that could serve as a good second helping to the monotonous army ration and they are discussing this moment lively. The kit consists of 2 sprues, one sprue contains the parts for the assembly of 5 figures, the other sprue contains the set of the German weapons in a big range that allows, on the one hand, to diversify the kit additionally, on the other hand, to apply unused models of the weapons in other kits.

2) MB3595 "Jungle Patrol, Vietnam War series" - The kit represents the group of the US military men of the Vietnam War times. The kit consists of 2 sprues. One sprue contains the set of the parts for the assembly of 4 figures, the other sprue contains the set of the parts with the equipment and weapons.

The peculiarity of the kit is that a large quantity of the ammunition allows assembling the figures in the most different configurations of the equipment and weapons. And besides, the figure of the machinegunner has the opportunity of the multipose assembly.

CD48050 - 1/48 US Navy / USMC AD-5 / A-1E Skyraider: Our second sheet for the recent Revell re-release of the classic Matchbox A-1E kit features US Navy and Marine Corps aircraft.

CD48057 - 1/48 USAF T-38A Talon Part 2: Our second USAF T-38 sheet features markings chosen from 1970s and 1980s USAF examples:

CD48058 - 1/48 Air National Guard F-101B Part 2: This follow-on to our first F-101B sheet (long sold out) features F-101B markings from North Dakota, Minnesota and Texas Air National Guard units. Some of the most striking markings ever worn by the Voodoo.
