The MD3 Aircraft Generator is the news of June, it's one of the standard USAF generators from the 60s until the seventies, typically painted in yellow although in Europe could also be green, used to provide 28-volt DC 1500 amp to F-84, F-86E/F/D/K, F-102, F-106, T-33, B-47, F-4C / D Phantom and still others of the period. It uses a Continental 180-hp six-cylinder reciprocating engine to drive its electrical generators. Two versions available now in 72 and 48 scale with cable and decals, will follow the version 1/32 later this year.



I've enclose a link containing images of the finished models plus a complete series of the version in 1/72 scale which is already available, this is a simplified but complete that comes directly from the same drawings of 1/32.

Caracal Models has just released four new 1/48 scale decal sheets:
CD48031 - 1/48 Sikorsky H-34 US Navy/USAF: Our first decal sheet for the brand new MRC/Gallery H-34 kit (as well as the older Revell mould that was just re-released) features markings for two colorful US Navy helicopters, in addition to a USAF HH-34J. Complete with extensive stencilling that was typical of these hard-working helicopters.

CD48033 - 1/48 US Navy A-6A/E Intruder Part 1: Designed with the new 1/48 A-6A kit from Kinetic in mind, this sheet features markings for 7 (seven) different early Intruders, including five Vietnam War examples. We have also included options for East and West Coast Intruder training squadrons. Markings for some of these units have never been featured in decal form before! The sheet includes stencilling and national insignia for two Intruders.

CD48035 - 1/48 Air National Guard F-4C/D Phantom II - Part 1: This long-awaited Phantom sheet provides marking options for four overall ADC Grey F-4C/D's from the 1980s: Oregon, Minnesota, Texas and Michigan Air National Guard. While we designed this kit for the upcoming Academy F-4C kit, it can also be used on the very accurate Hasegawa and Monogram Phantoms as well. This two-page decal sheet includes stencilling and walkways for one ADC Grey F-4C or F-4D.

Modell des Jahres gesucht

Modellbau ist kein Hobby das nur in privaten Bastelkellern stattfindet. Im Gegenteil, viele Modellbauer nutzen gerne die diversen Ausstellungen und Wettbewerbe um Fähigkeiten und Kreativität unter Beweis zu stellen. Sich mit Gleichgesinnten messen zu können, ist für viele eine zusätzliche Motivation. Einer der bekanntesten und größten Modellbauwettbewerbe ist der von der Modellbaufirma Revell jährlich ausgeschriebene internationale Scale Award. Und jetzt ist es wieder so weit: Ab sofort läuft die Ausschreibung für den diesjährigen Wettbewerb. [ mehr ]

Gesucht und prämiert wird das beste Modell des Jahres. In der Auswahl der Bausätze haben die Teilnehmer alle Freiheiten und auch bei der Gestaltung sind der Phantasie keine Grenzen gesetzt. Wichtigste Bewertungskriterien sind Kreativität und Attraktivität der Modelle. Die eingereichten Arbeiten von Jugendlichen bis 16 Jahren werden in einer gesonderten Jugendkategorie bewertet. Für beide Kategorien gelten die gleichen Wettbewerbsregeln.

Die eingereichten Arbeiten werden zunächst von einer fachkundigen Jury begutachtet. Eine Vorauswahl der besten zehn Modelle wird im Oktober auf der modell hobby spiel in Leipzig, einer der größten deutschen Modellbauausstellungen, präsentiert. Dort bestimmen die Besucher der Messe mit ihrem Votum das Siegermodell.

Auf den Preisträger wartet aber nicht nur der begehrte Modellbau Award. Zusätzlich erhält er die Möglichkeit beim Wettbewerbsveranstalter Revell in Bünde einen exklusiven Blick hinter die Kulissen des europäischen Marktführers in Sachen Plastikmodellbau zu werfen. Weitere attraktive Gewinne warten auf die Plätze 2 bis 10. Auf den Sieger der Jugendkategorie wartet ein 200 Euro Gutschein für Modellbausätze und eine Urkunde.

Die Teilnehmer werden gebeten, bis zum 16.08.2013 möglichst aussagekräftige Fotos ihres Modells inklusive Detailaufnahmen per Post oder E-Mail an Revell zu senden. Im Interesse einer fairen Bewertung ist den Fotos eine Kurzbeschreibung des Modells mit Maßstab und verwendeten Zurüstteilen beizufügen. Dabei müssen unbedingt die vollständigen Kontaktdaten inklusive Telefonnummer mit angegeben werden.

Attack Squadron will release very soon a new full resin model kit of the K-Max helicopter

#72015 K-Max manned/unmanned helicopter.

Designed for transporting heavy loads up to 6000 lb hoisted under reinforced fuselage K-Max proved its value in civilian and military duty. K-max is designed using the intermeshing rotor system. It use the whole power of the engine for the lift force, rotor torques tolerate each other and there is no need to use power consuming rudder propeller. Also, the arrangement of the rotors stabilizes helicopter the making it an ideal platform for construction work where stability is so important. Being a very stable platform it is used currently for cargo delivery in Afghanistan by US Marine Corps. K-Max unmanned helicopters deliver cargo to remote posts of Marines. It is much more safe way of transport compared to truck convoys that are vulnerable to Taliban Ambushes and bomb traps.

Our K-Max 1:72 scale resin kit is as usual designed in CAD 3D technology. Masters are printed with 3D printer and then carefully checked and corrected. Our technology makes model kit extremely accurate and perfect fit. Smart parts break down makes cutting out of casting blocks and assembly relatively easy. Undercarriage is reinforced with steel rod. Surface is completly covered with accurate raised rivet details.

CD48034 - 1/48 Air National Guard A-10C Part 2: The second sheet in our A-10C series features markings for Arkansas and Michigan Air National Guard units flying the latest, updated version of the 'Hog.

CD72010 - 1/72 Polish Air Force MiG-29 "Heroes of Kosciuszko": FThis is the 1/72 version of our very successful "Heroes of Kosciuszko" decal sheets for the Polish Air Force MiG-29s decorated with portraits of WWII heroes. In addition to featuring both single-seat MiG-29s covered on the larger sheet, the 1/72 sheet also includes markings for a similarly decorated MiG-29UB.

Our next batch of releases will include two new Air National Guard F-4C/D Phantom sheets, one USAF/USN UH-34D sheet for the excellent new MRC/Gallery kit, and our first A-6A/E Intruder sheet; all in 1/48 scale! This is the last product i've finished this month, it's the ubiquitous 1/32 MJ1 loader present on all USAF bases from the 60s in two different and distinct versions that I called Early and Late.

I've enclose a link containing images of the finished models plus a complete series of the version in 1/72 scale which is already available, this is a simplified but complete that comes directly from the same drawings of 1/32.

Big news this month is five sheets of Cartograf-printed decals for British vehicles serving in Europe between Summer 1943 and Spring of 1945. These are the first five of twelve sheets in this series. Liebe Freunde des Modellbaus

Unser Modellbautag soll alle Modellbausparten abdecken inkl. Modelleisenbahn, um so eine breite Masse der Bevölkerung auf das tolle Hobby aufmerksam machen. Wir als Verein und Museumsbetreiber sind in der glücklichen Lage, ein zentrales, interessantes Gelände mit Geschichte zu haben. Damit die Veranstaltung für alle ein Erfolg wird, ist es wichtig die Informationen weit zu streuen. Bitte informiert andere Händler, Clubs und Interessierte.

Damit die Veranstaltung in geregelten Bahnen läuft sollten einige Regeln beachtet werden. Clubs und priv. Aussteller zahlen keine Standgebühren Händler zahlen 20€ Um die Standanordnungen und Platzbedarf planen zu können, ist es wichtig zu wissen, was an Platzbedarf benötigt wird (Halle/Freigelände). Soweit wie möglich, stellen wir Tische für die Hallenstände. Auch der Aufbau eines RC Schiff Beckens ist möglich, sollte nur rechtzeitig angemeldet werden. Die Anmeldung, sollte mit Angabe und Art des Platzbedarfs erfolgen. Wichtig wären die Kontaktdaten mit Mailadresse. Der Aufbau kann bereits am Freitag erfolgen, oder am Samstag ab 08:30

Da wir uns direkt am Flughafen und dem Autobahnzubringer befinden, sind Flüge von Modellen nur eingeschränkt möglich. Der Luftraum des Flughafens beginnt ab 12 Meter. Sämtl. Anfragen und Reservierungen bitte auch an info@alliierteinberlin.de

Aerotech Update April

We now have the test castings for AT32018 Speed Spitfire, the decals are being printed and we will be working on the etch shortly. We are hoping to have this available late May.



Resin and undercarriage parts for Speed Spitfire.

We will be starting work on the Piaggio Pc-7 in the next week or so. We will also be releasing further versions of the DH88 Comet.

It has been suggested that it might be a good idea to produce the Messerschmitt ME209V1 as a companion to the Speed Spitfire. We were interested in doing this a few years ago but I thought that this was being produced elsewhere so we shelved the idea. As it has yet to appear in 1/32nd, I think it is time to revisit the idea. Let me know what you think.

Just a small newsletter to let everyone know that I've finally been able to get the last available individual print pages of the original "Uncovering the F-16 A/B/C/D" book in a small but nevertheless final batch binded as a normal book.

After I've sent a copy to those who expressed an interest in this book in advance, only a DOZEN copies remain now of this long sold out book. So if you have an interest in getting a copy in your hands, it's now the time to act...

Due to the extra costs to do such a small batch, the price I have to ask is 50.00 euro + 13.50 p&p (registrated) shipped from Germany.

And although I suspect most of you got it already in your hands, but if you haven't: I only have about 200 copies remaining of the english version of my latest book "Uncovering the Lockheed F-104G Starfighter" ! So if you haven't got it yet, and your planning to buy and build to future Italeri 1/32 Starfighter kit (which has been improved based on this book), get it before it's too late!

No new news around my own 1/48 Starfighter improvement set yet (aside that the test shots need a lot of corrections, and if we still can find space some additional parts will be added...)

Hello from Freightdog,

After a long period of unavailability we are planning a limited re-issue of our BAe EAP kit under our Silver Cloud label. This is a 1/72nd scale multi-media kit, featuring grey and clear resin, photo-etched brass and screen printed decals by Fantasy Printshop.
We are hoping to have this kit back on sale by the middle of March, in time for IPMS Southern Expo at Hornchurch, Essex. Price to be confirmed.

Also expected for release in March will be our 1/72nd scale Dassault Etendard IVP and Douglas A-4C/L conversion sets, designed for use with the Heller IVM and Airfix A-4B base kits.

Gesprächsrunden, Vorführungen, Workshops und Modellbau in Perfektion erwarten die Teilnehmer und Besucher, da der Expertentag im Gegensatz zur Vergangenheit nunmehr auch für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich ist.

Die Türkische Luftwaffe nutzt zurzeit die modernste Versionen der legendären Phantom II, die in Israel (die "Terminator 2020") und der Türkei (die F-4ETM "Lightning" und die RF-4ETM "Light") modernisiert wurden.

Der neue HI-DECAL Set bieten Markierungen für 4 türkische F-4 verschiedener Versionen mit großen, attraktiven Staffelmarkierungen. 111 Filo "Panther"- F-4E ex NJ ANG, mit großem "Tigerkopf" auf dem Forderrumpf 112 Filo "Seytan" - F-4ETM mit Haifisch-Maul und "Teufelskopf" am Leitwerk 172 Filo "Sahin"-F-4Emit Haifisch-Maul und "Falkenkopf" am Leitwerk 173 Filo "Safak"- RF-4ETM mit neuer Tarnbemalung und "Spook" am Leitwerk Diese letzte Maschine gehörte zu einem Lot von 8 RF-4Es, die für die THK gebaut wurden. The Ultimate Tiger I kit in 1/35 scale, from Model Factory Hiro!

Model Factory Hiro has been bringing the highest level of automotive modeling to the hobby world for years, and now they're bringing that same fanatical commitment to excellence to the world of military modeling. Their "Ultimate Kit" of the famous Tiger I tank is just that; the ultimate! And we'll let MFH themselves tell you why:

The Kit is based on late production type of 1944, with the new type cupola and steel wheels. Multi-material kit consists of parts made of white metal, resin, aluminum alloy, photo-etched metal, screen-printed decals, magnets, and more. Kit includes a fully detailed interior, with Maybach HL230 engine, transmission, radiator, fuel tank, and internal structures of the turret with ammo. Roofs of the turret and the hull are attached by magnets and can be attached and detached easily to show off the interiors. The fully workable tracks can be assembled easily and enhance the realism of the model, letting you feel the weight. The suspension is attached by magnets in order to let it move as the real tank does. The muzzle brake is made of UV photopolymer using laser lithography, to reproduce the internal details and the rifling. The barrel is made of aluminum alloy, with the recoil action reproduced by an internal spring. The tapered antenna is made of glass fiber and is flexible to prevent breakage. The zimmerit coating uses a newly-developed 3D decal sheet that is included in the kit. An uneven, realistically broken surface can be easily created by using this sheet.

In todays newsletter I would like to put your attention to a few new items that are slightly off the usual topic, that we produce. It is decals and photoech for an airliner, the C-46 Commando in 1/72 and 1/144 scale. The decals are for Swedish TransAir and BOAC. The photoetch is in 1/72.

Else, there are several new items in both resin and photoetch. You will find them on the link below. Listed among the news are also a few items like the 2-seater Draken conversion and missile Rb04, both in 1/48 scale, that have been out of stock for quite a while but are now back in stock. • Weiterhin habe ich eine erste Kurzvorstellung der bisher vorhandenen Testshots der Spitfire Mk.IX von Eduard zusammengestellt.
• ebenso kurz einige Testshots der Fairey Firefly Mk.I "Home Fleet" 1/48 von Special Hobby
• Die Neuheitenliste wurde um die neuen Artikel aus dem Zvezda Katalog ergänzt. Vieles ist in der "Art of Tactic" table top Wargaming-Reihe angesiedelt, aber das meiste ist davon in gängigen Maßstäben, so dass sich ein Blick lohnt. Endlich scheint auch die Su-2 in 48 erscheinen.
  Ebenso interessant sind die Disney Lizenzprodukte, die bisher nur in Rußland erschienen sind. Gerüchten von der Messe zufolge, sollen die Rechte jetzt für Europa vorliegen, was "Cars & Planes" in erreichbare Nähe rücken könnte. Auf Nachfrage war Carson nicht an den Reihen (einfache Spritzgussbausätze mit Aufklebern) interessiert, aber vielleicht findet sich ja ein anderer Zweig der Dickie Group, der Interessa hat. Weiterhin wurden auch einige Artikel vom Amodel Newsletter ergänzt.

Erste Modellbauausstellung des SMB Modellbau Clubs!

Frischer Wind in der Szene von Modellbauausstellungen tut immer gut! Dies sagten sich Chris Smith und Manuel Plöger, Initiatoren des SMB (Scale Modell Brigade) Modellbauclubs und haben eine nicht kommerzielle Modellbauausstellung ins Leben gerufen, die mit zahlreichen Innovationen aufwartet.

Die Ausstellung selbst findet am 3. März 2013 von 10 bis 16 Uhr im Landhotel Weber in Horn-Bad Meinberg statt. Eingeladen sind bei freiem Eintritt alle am Modellbau interessierten Besucher, wobei sich der Bogen von Militär- und Zivilfahrzeugen sowie Dioramen bis hin zu Flugzeugen und Figuren spannt. Eine gute Gelegenheit also für alle Neulinge, sich vor Ort über das kreative Hobby Plastikmodellbau zu informieren und von Profis hilfreiche Tipps über den Start in diese kreative Freizeitgestaltung zu erhalten.

Aussteller, die sich zu der Modellbauausstellung anmelden, können am Samstag, den 2. März 2013 ab 10:00 Uhr anreisen. Im Laufe des Tages werden in lockerer Atmosphäre Kontakte geknüpft, außerdem kann man sich dem aktiven Modellbau widmen und diesbezügliche Erfahrungen austauschen. Der Abend wird dann in entspannter Atmosphäre im Restaurant des Hotels ausklingen, bevor dann am Sonntag, den 3. März 2013 die Modellbauausstellung mit hoffentlich zahlreichen Besuchern über die Bühne geht.

Liebe Modellbaufreunde,

Wir freuen uns, Euch zu unserer 10. Modellbauausstellung am Sonntag, den 28. April 2013 in der Festhalle Wilnsdorf ganz herzlich einladen zu dürfen.

Die Festhalle im südlichen Siegerland hat sich seit unserer ersten Ausstellung im Jahr 2004 jedes Jahr wieder hervorragend für unsere Ausstellung bewährt. Neben den optimalen Lichtverhältnissen bietet diese Halle auch ein gemütliches Flair für die Aussteller und Gäste aus dem gesamten Bundesgebiet sowie dem europäischen Ausland. (Wer schon einmal hier war der weiß, wovon ich spreche)
Die eigene Küche zur Bewirtung wird wieder herzlich (und gut) für die Modellbauer und Gäste zu den gewohnt kleinen Preisen sorgen. Zur Präsentation der Modelle stehen auf etwa 600m² Ausstellungsfläche in der Halle ca. 180 laufende Meter Tische zur Verfügung.

Wie bereits in den vergangenen Jahren findet auch 2013 wieder am Abend vor der Ausstellung ein gemütliches Beisammensein mit Büfett für Aussteller und Gäste statt, wozu wir Euch ebenfalls herzlich einladen möchten.

verbunden mit dem Wunsch für ein gutes und erfolgreiches Jahr 2013 freue ich mich, Ihnen den Termin der diesjährigen Inspiration Modellbau in Mainz bekannt zu geben. Sie findet am 21.und 22.09. wieder auf dem Messegelände in Mainz-Hechtsheim statt. Die Anmeldeformulare werden in Kürze unter www.modellbauclub-mainz.de eingestellt.

Seitens des Vereins sind ebenfalls neue Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten bereits in der Planung; es sind mehr Mitmachaktionen vorgesehen, eine organisatorische Ausrichtung der einzelnen Modellbausparten, eine bessere und effizentiere Orientierungshilfe für die Zuschauer etc. Davon betroffen ist allerdings der Wegfall der bisherigen Modellbau-Tauschbörse. Wenn daher einzelne ideelle Aussteller überzählige Modellbauartikel anbieten möchten, bedarf dies einer speziellen Absprache mit dem Modellbauclub Mainz.

Über unsere Webseite werden wir die einzelnen Schritte nach und nach dokumentieren und die Inspiration Modellbau wieder zu einem interessanten und attraktiven Treffpunkt für Sie gestalten. Der Verein freut sich auf Ihre Teilnahme.

Attack Squadron has released next UAV 1:72 scale multimedia kit.

It is *#72012 RQ-7B Shadow UA**V*

RQ-7B drone is currently used by AS Army and US Marines in combat in Afghanistan. Also Swedish and Australian armies use Shadows. RQ-7B operates from special pneumatic launcher hauled by Hummer and lands using tailhook like carrier-borne aircraft. It is used mainly for scouting, tracking, target acquisition and battle damage assessment.

Attack Squadron 1:72 kit contains resin parts, photoetched fret, brass tube tail booms and decals. As our previous MQ-8B it is completely 3D computer designed and printedwith 3D printer.

Following a logical path which covers all areas where this is performed?.Italian western sector where within few hundred miles, from south to north, we pass from sea level of Mediterranean sea to the highest point of Europe, Mont Blanc with his height of 4807 meters.

During our trip we will discover the means, facilities, men and women belonging to military organizations, State Services and civilian operators, all united by one mission: to bring professional rescue and medical assistance by helicopter where there is an emergency"

Figurines are also suitable for representing Polish Reserve units and some first line infantrymen (patrol configuration without rucksack)in 1939 campaign. For 1939 the maciejowka cap should be replaced with new peaked rogatywka or with forage cap.

Re-released is 54mm figurine in resin: Belina's Ulans Officer 1915 (ADB54001R)
The figurine presents Second Lieutenant of cavalry of the 1st Brigade of Legions, Polish unit in Austro-Hungarian army WW1. It takes the picture of Ltn. Boleslaw Wieniawa-Dlugoszowski as his model. The picture is from the beginning of 1915 when the Brigade was having a rest after hard fighting against the Russians in the Carpathians.
Set contains resin figure, resin base with fence and full color instruction with b/w photos and museum color photos, rank insignia guide and historical background in English.
